Guiding Principles
- Equipping families to help and encourage other families to deal with
mental illness is a unique opportunity and responsibility of NAMI GFC.
- A focus and priority on grass roots input and participation keeps NAMI
GFC on target to efficiently and effectively meet real needs of family
members and persons with mental illness.
- Equipping persons with mental illness to reach their fullest potential
in areas including: Socializing, realistic employment, Mental Health,
Goal setting and follow-through, Spiritual life, and helping others is a
shared opportunity and responsibility of NAMI GFC family members and
persons with mental illness.
- Finding common ground and agreement on essentials is the basis for
NAMI GFC collaboration with other groups who can provide part of the
overall support and services needed by family members and persons with
mental illness.
